NHAI Invites Bids for Six-Lane Capital Region Ring Road in Odisha

Rameshwar to Bilipada stretch under Package 1 to be developed on Hybrid Annuity Mode

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – November 22, 2024 — The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of a new six-lane access-controlled Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) from Rameshwar (NH-16) to Bilipada, spanning a length of 40.700 km. This ambitious infrastructure project, falling under Package 1 of the larger regional connectivity plan, is to be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), a model combining government and private sector investment.

The tender, listed under ID 2024_NHAI_215849_1, was officially published on 22nd November 2024, with the bid submission window closing on 24th April 2025. The NHAI, as the tendering authority, aims to significantly enhance traffic decongestion, regional mobility, and economic growth in Odisha’s capital region through this project.

Project Highlights:

  • Length: 40.700 km
  • Start Point: Rameshwar (NH-16)
  • End Point: Bilipada
  • Project Mode: Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM)
  • Tender Authority: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)

The CRRR project is a critical part of the state and central government’s efforts to improve highway infrastructure in eastern India. Once completed, the ring road is expected to reduce vehicular load on urban corridors, improve logistics movement, and support future industrial and residential expansions in and around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Interested bidders can access full details and eligibility criteria on the official NHAI e-procurement portal. Given its strategic importance, the project is likely to attract strong participation from major infrastructure developers across the country.
